Wet Felted Merino Wool Scarf & Fingerless Gloves – Handspun Wool & Silk

A completely handmade wool and silk set full of texture, color and wonderfully unruly little details.

This one-of-a-kind scarf is wet felted by hand from soft Merino wool, using natural cream and woodland greens as the base. I incorporated my own handspun wool yarn across the surface, along with silk fibers and yarns in earthy browns, mossy greens, turquoise, gold and touches of purple and a touch of sparkle.

Rather than a printed or applied design, the fibers and yarns are worked directly into the wool during the wet-felting process. They twist, wander and become part of the felt itself, giving the scarf its organic, almost vine-like surface and making every section different.

The edges are intentionally free-form rather than perfectly straight, keeping the natural character of handmade felt. The scarf is 4 feet long and is 10" at it's widest part

The matching fingerless gloves are also wet felted by hand from Merino wool and finished with hand stitching. They pick up the same cream and green colors as the scarf for a coordinated set without being overly matched.
These are medium to small gloves.

Made slowly and entirely by hand, from loose wool and fiber to the finished scarf and gloves. There will never be another set exactly like it.

wash by hand cool water. do not agitate. roll in a dry towel to extract moisture dry flat. gentle steam and iron if needed.
