Strawberry Wall Art – Hand Tooled Leather & Handwoven Wool – 8x8 Mixed Media Folk Art
A little celebration of strawberries, texture, color and things made by hand.
This one-of-a-kind 8" × 8" wall piece combines my hand-tooled and dyed leather artwork that is embossed by hand. A skilled technique that is rare. It also features my handwoven wool that is raised here on my farm in Maine.
The strawberry scene is carved into leather, tooled by hand and individually colored, then stitched onto a red and natural woven wool panel by hand.
The weaving is finished with a chunky natural wool edge and mounted on a fabric-covered 8" × 8" base, creating lots of texture and dimension without being a large piece of artwork.
Made entirely by hand in my Maine studio. There will never be another one exactly like it.
8" × 8" • ready to hang • one of a kind.
Will also fit in an 8x8 shadow box frame if you want to dress it up some more!
