These beautiful natural white locks come from my Border Leicester × Cotswold sheep, raised here on my small Maine farm.
There is two types of fleece my sheep produce. Silky thicker locks like a cotswold breed fleece and thinner tighter curls from the Border Leicester side. The are specifically from the Border Leicester side. these are tiny locks. 1" to 3" long as curled. longer if you stretch them.
These dye beautifully or use naturally.
Each 1 oz package contains curls, and tighter corkscrew tips. They are wonderful for wet felting, needle felting, felted fleece projects, fiber art where you want the natural lock structure to remain visible.
The wool has been washed once and air-dried outdoors specifically to preserve the curls and individual locks. They will feel crisp as packaged and will soften when rewetted, washed, or worked into a wet-felted project.
The tips still have natural color from only 1 washing but to preserve price for time it will brighten more after wet felting and become soft.
Details: 1 oz natural white Border Leicester × Cotswold wool locks; washed once; undyed; uncarded; naturally curly; grown and processed on my Maine farm.
Because this is minimally processed farm wool, an occasional bit of vegetable matter may remain but extremely small if at all. Each package is naturally unique. no chemicals or soaps are used in my process.
