📚 From my small homestead in Maine, this one-of-a-kind reading pillow is made entirely by hand—from the wool to the finished textile. Designed to bring comfort and character to quiet evenings with a good book, it rests beautifully on a sofa, bed, or favorite reading chair while supporting your book or arms as you relax.

The cover is handwoven on a floor loom using a traditional overshot pattern inspired by early American textiles. I used wool from my own sheep, handspun and woven together with cotton to create a richly textured surface with depth, warmth, and movement.

The pillow is filled with hand-carded wool enclosed in a cotton muslin insert, giving it a substantial yet soft feel that gently molds while still holding its shape. Each corner is finished with natural wool lock tassels, preserving the raw beauty and character of the fleece.

Two handwoven support straps have been added across the front to help hold a book comfortably in place while reading or resting, making the piece both functional and decorative.

This is not a production piece. It is the only one like it and carries the full process—from animal to finished textile. Every variation in the yarn and weaving reflects the handmade nature of the work.

🐑 This pillow was made using wool from Sugar, my Border Leicester and Cotswold cross ewe. Her fleece is long, lustrous, strong, and soft, creating yarn with beautiful texture and character unique to our flock here in Maine.
